Nestled in the heart of Nongsa Beach, Sumber Rezeki Seafood is a must-visit destination for seafood lovers visiting Batam City. This charming seafood restaurant brings together authentic flavors and a warm, family-run atmosphere that feels more like dining at a beloved local’s home rather than a formal establishment.
The culinary highlight here is undoubtedly their kepiting saos Padang — a dish that repeatedly earns high praise from patrons like Laurentia Anggun, who raves about its “juara banget” (champion-level) seasoning that perfectly balances rich, spicy, and savory notes. Each crab morsel is generously coated in the spicy, indulgent Padang sauce, creating an explosion of flavor that’s markedly different from typical renditions elsewhere. Fans swear by this dish as the best in town, making it a pilgrimage-worthy stop on any Batam itinerary.
Another standout is the sotong goreng tepung (fried battered squid), beloved for its thick, juicy cut and crisp, golden exterior. Reviewers note the squid’s tender, meaty bite perfectly complemented by the crispy batter, delivering a satisfying texture combo that’s simply addictive. Additionally, adventurous diners will appreciate the unique offering of shark meat, which adds an exciting layer of variety and boldness to the menu.
Sumber Rezeki Seafood embodies an enchanting blend of rustic charm and genuine local hospitality. While the service leans toward casual and family-style rather than polished restaurant formalities, it lends an authentic, down-to-earth vibe that allows the food—and its rich, kampong-inspired flavors—to shine. The menu is user-friendly with English translations, though the staff’s limited English proficiency doesn’t detract from the welcoming environment or the irresistible dishes.
Whether you’re on a seafood quest or simply craving a comforting meal with a soulful touch, Sumber Rezeki Seafood promises an unforgettable culinary experience. From the moment you dig into their signature crab to the last bite of perfectly fried calamari, the flavors here evoke nostalgia and the simple joy of home-cooked kampong meals, making it impossible not to return again and again.

Decent place for seafood, cash only, has English in the menu, but they don't speak english, don't expect restaurant level service, more of a family run business but overall for the food, a good experience.

Personally I love the cooking. I've been regular customer since my childhood. First visit was brought by my parents when I was still a boy. Till I grow up, came here with my friends and colleagues. Always like the auntie's cooking style, although not comparable to 5 stars restaurant, it's still the most suitable for me. Feel more like home cooking taste or kampong taste. Like the fried calamari the most, completely different from others. This place only accepts cash payment method as it is managed by senior citizens who are not familiar with those digital payment methods. So if you are planning to visit this eating place, gotta prepare bunch of cash. Most importantly, it has moved from the previous location to slightly up ahead. Understand that the previous location was recalled by the land owner which left them no choice but to move out to the shore near to the road side. It's easy to find, you can spot easily while driving through the road. Last but not least, some say that it's expensive but I doubt so as compared to the price you pay in the town. I've done the comparison, the cost of the seafood meal I had at Harbour Bay district was almost IDR 2mil yet at Sumber Rezeki was only IDR 1.2mil. See the gap???
